Dr. Kelly Malinoski is proud to offer comprehensive care for most foot and ankle conditions.
From shockwave therapy (ESWT) for plantar fasciitis to pediatric care and much more,
we’re here for you, all your foot and ankle care needs.
Extracorporeal , “outside the body” shockwave therapy (ESWT) for the treatment of heel pain is a non-invasive painless procedure used to manage that pain related to plantar fasciitis, among other foot & ankle conditions.
Treatment with ESWT means no hospital, operating room, surgical incisions, stitches, bandages, or downtime are required.
Shockwave therapy at Dr. Kelly's office involves low energy sound waves being applied to the affected area through the skin. These sound waves penetrate the soft tissue structures and bone to break up some of the scar tissue that causes you discomfort. They also stimulate blood flow and the production of certain cells in your body that accelerate the healing process.
Shockwave therapy has been found to stimulate Angiogenesis or new blood circulation around the injured area. Within new blood circulation are the growth factors that heal injuries.
Have you heard of Lithotripsy?
Shockwave therapy is based on Lithotripsy or breaking up of kidney stones.
The in-office procedure takes about 10-15 minutes per foot.
Patients walk in and walk out after the procedure.
Patients report minimal to no pain during the procedure and only
mild tenderness after the procedure for approximately 48–72 hours.
